Darryn Melerine receives 2025 Claims Person of the Year from Matt Monson Winner in 2024

Claims Person of the Year

Darryn Melerine, founder and CEO of MD Claims Group, has been named the Louisiana Claims Association’s 2025 Claim Person of the Year – an honor recognizing exceptional achievement, ethical leadership, and dedicated service in the field of claims adjusting.

With a career spanning more than two decades, Darryn has built a reputation for integrity, innovation, and impact.  As the driving force behind MD Claims Group, he has led initiatives that have transformed claims management processes, trained and mentored hundreds of adjusters, and elevated operational standards across the industry.  Yet, Darryn is the first to say this recognition is not his alone.

“This award represents something far greater than one person.  It reflects the commitment of our entire industry – from competitors to collaborators – who show up day after day to do the right thing for policyholders and communities.”

Darryn’s achievements are closely tied to the people who support him, and he proudly credits his team at MD Claims Group for their shared success.

‘One Claim. One Team. That’s not just a tagline at MD Claims Group – it’s our foundation.’

As the 2025 LCA Claim Person of the Year, Darryn Melerine exemplifies what it means to lead with purpose, serve with heart, and raise the standard for the next generation of claims professionals.

Each year LCA recognizes one individual within the state that has shown outstanding achievements in the claims adjusting field, through his or her professional and civic conduct and achievements.
